Fair and Balanced Booking Policy for Guests and Hosts: Clear Guidelines and Expectations | RentGrandBend

We strive to create a safe and fair environment for both hosts and guests. We believe that clear guidelines and expectations are essential for ensuring a positive experience for everyone. To that end, we have developed the following policy:

  1. Cancellation Policy: In the event that a guest needs to cancel a booking, they must do so at least 30 days prior to the check-in date to receive a full refund. If a cancellation is made between 14 and 29 days prior to the check-in date, the guest will receive a 50% refund of the total booking amount. Cancellations made less than 14 days prior to the check-in date will not be eligible for a refund.
  2. Host Cancellation: In the event that a host cancels a booking, they must provide a valid reason for doing so. If the host cancels a booking less than 14 days prior to the check-in date, they will be responsible for refunding the guest the full amount of the booking. If the host cancels a booking between 14 and 29 days prior to the check-in date, they will be responsible for refunding the guest 50% of the booking amount. If the host cancels a booking 30 days or more prior to the check-in date, they will not be responsible for refunding the guest.
  3. Damage Deposit: Hosts may choose to require a damage deposit from guests, which will be refunded in full if there is no damage to the property. In the event of damage, the host will be responsible for providing an estimate of the cost of repairs or replacement, and the guest will be responsible for paying the amount of the damage deposit, up to the amount of the estimate.
  4. Communication: Both hosts and guests are expected to communicate clearly and respectfully with each other throughout the booking process and during the stay. If an issue arises, both parties are expected to work together to find a satisfactory resolution.
  5. Third-Party Insurance: While we do not provide insurance for bookings, guests and hosts are encouraged to obtain their own third-party insurance to protect against unforeseen events such as cancellations or damage.

By following these guidelines, we believe that hosts and guests can have a positive experience and work together to create a safe and fair environment for everyone involved.
